Trying out SKIMS bras and what I honestly think of them!
This post is in no way sponsored by SKIMS. I get zero credit for sharing/linking their items. Your girl really just needed some new bras and you all were very excited to hear my thoughts on them!
Bra shopping is my least favorite thing to do. I’ve been in need of new bras since two kids ago and there’s alway so much disappointment when searching that I always just put it off.
I’m a very simple gal when it comes to what holds the girls. I have nothing there which makes it easy to work with. I don’t like push ups, I don’t like extra padding and I prefer the bralette style. However, I do still want to look cute and feel like I actually have a chest in my bralettes.
I’m full aware at how many other places I could have shopped at but I really admire how size inclusive SKIMS is and the shade range they offer in there ‘nude’ style bras. If you haven’t gone to SKIMS site I would highly recommend taking a look to check out all the styles they offer. The price point is very normal too. All these bras are way more affordable than some of the bras I originally looked at. It took me three restocks to FINALLY snag some bras in my size so let’s talk about it!
According to SKIMS sizing I am a small in all sizes and I purchased a small in every style. The color choices were based off of what was in stock in my size.
Cotton Plunge Bralette – $36
I have jokingly said (since before kids) I have a really nice sternum. I have a very small chest and zero cleavage. A boob job has always been on the table…now what does this have to do with this bra?! I HAVE BOOBS IN THIS BRA!!!! LIKE LITERAL BOOBS! I swear my chest went from maybe a B to holy knockers with just a bra. I HIGHLY recommend this bralette if you are wanting a lift without the padding. Since this bra is cotton I do feel very secure in it and there is little to no stretch from all day wear. I’m currently on day two of wearing this bralette and I have zero complaints on the support. I would compare this bralette to a supportive triangle bikini top. There is a pleat in the ‘cup’ on both sides that I feel really helps to shape and lift keeping the girls more rounded. The band is thick which makes me feel very secure and has four clasp sizes to choose from. The only negative I have on the Cotton Plunge is that I am on the last clasp, which I know will stretch out over wear time. I know if I sized up for the clasp the actual bra size would be off. Fits everybody triangle bralette – $32
This was the first of the four that I tried. I’ve never worn a triangle bra like this and all the ones I have seen similar to this style were nursing bras (just being honest) so I was hesitant. I ended up actually really loving the support from this one too. This one is definitely more support than lift. I’ve really liked wearing this style under t-shirts and more basic everyday clothing. The bra itself is very soft and very stretchy. It’s like a buttery spandex and shapes very nicely to the chest. I have noticed that all of these bras do a really good job at rounding out the girls while giving support instead of just pancaking them. The band is on the thinner side and just as buttery soft as the rest is. I’ve read really good reviews on this bra from others with larger chests so I can definitely say it is an everybody bra. Fits Everybody Scoop Neck Bra – $32
I’ve gotta say… I am big fan of these Fits Everybody style bras! I own a bra very similar to this. It’s 100% cotton and I like it because It’s very fitted. However the fabric pills like no other and lasted me only a couple washes. When I saw this scoop neck style I immediately added it to my cart. LOVE IT! The material is buttery soft like the Fits Everybody Triangle Bra with that same extra stretch. Scoop necks feel supporting like sports bras without strangling you haha. Right away I want a couple more of these to have on hand because I can already tell this will be the most worn. You can purchase this bra here!
Waffle Scoop Bra – $36
Unfortunately this Waffle Scoop Bra isn’t doing it for me and it will be exchanged for another style. It’s not that I don’t love it, because I do love the scoop style. The material and the size itself is what I don’t care for. I for sure need a larger size in this. I’m sure sizing up would do me wonders and maybe have me end up loving this bra. However, I have a couple bra tanks very similar to the waffle material and it gets very fuzzy when any other type of fabric is rubbed against it. I will say that this material is very soft and warm and would more of a lounge around the house bra. There’s actually a whole lounge set with the exact waffle material that looks dreamy as heck. Aside from all that, it’s very secure and has wonderful support. The band is a thicker elastic and quite comfortable. You can shop this bra here!
In all, I was very happy with this purchase. SKIMS is very popular so I can see frustrations on being able to snag items but I can promise you it’s worth the way. I’ve been trying to snag things since November and was able to get it all a couple weeks ago. I am very interested in trying more of the SKIMS line. The underwear, lounge pieces, the shape wear and the actual underwire bra are on my list next.
