Shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary sale 2022
The Nordstrom sale is so overrated yet here I am shopping it haha. The day you’re elligable to shop is all based on your status with Nordstrom’s card member program. There are 4 levels and the level system is based off how much you spend in a calendar year on your Nordstrom card (it’s insane to know how much some spend for their status).
how to know when to shop
Members – Open to the public July 15th
Influencer (me) – July 9th – Spend more than $500 in a calendar year
Ambassador – July 7th – Spend $5k in a calendar year
Icon – July 6th – Spend $15k+ in a calendar year
Being a card member has it’s perks and I always use my double points on these types of sale days. I don’t owe anyone an explanation but getting to that $500 in a calendar year just to shop the sale early is honestly pretty easy. I watch for sales on the little girls’ tennis shoes boots and will buy a couple pairs for winter. I always buy Kyler his tennis shoes from Nordstrom because they tend to price match on their site to other retailers and I might as well take advantage of getting points. I also buy my makeup and clothing items randomly through the year! Once all this is said and done I’m typically able to add on to the next calendar year by purchasing a large amount during the Anniversary sale. It’s quite the cycle haha.
What I’m shopping for this year
I have nothing I need because I would much rather have new kitchen countertops than a bunch of new items. There are a few items though that I wouldn’t mind keeping in my closet. I have everything I think I would like shown below and I’m not kidding when I say this is it.
The Hayden Chelsea Boot (for him) is just a classy boot I would like Kyler to wear for more formal events. He doesn’t have a pair of shoes like this and sometimes the look of laces with a sleek fit totally kills the vibe haha. | The Free People Oatmeal Sweater is a splurge but just want until you see the back…it’s completely open and I genuinely see myself owning it forever. It’s so pretty! | We all know how I am with Matching Knit Sets and this one is no different. I’ve simplified my stock and I need it. | The TopShop Black Cardigan is actually something I don’t have. I don’t own a black cardigan and I would really like it to wear to work. In the chance I mess it up with color it won’t be ruined like a few of my cream ones have. | Last we have the Topshop cream blazer. I have always wanted one but told myself if I got one I would get a well made one. Topshop items are honestly made very well. If I don’t like it i’ll just send it back!
Tips for the sale:
- Don’t get attached to any items. Like it’s silly to say but no clothing article is worth it.
- Instagram influencers are going to be pushy as hell!!! Don’t feel pressured to purchase anything or feel bad about yourself because you can’t. We’re all in different financial situations and no sweater is worth it. Half the influencers take the photos and return the product anyway.
- If you think you’re in-between sizes but are afraid it’ll sell out I would recommend purchasing both which leads to my next tip.
- Everything is returnable. Nordstrom has the best return policy.
- Shopping online is hard so be sure to read the description on items.
And that’s it! I will do my shopping online on the 9th and once everything comes in I’ll share it all on stories. For the sake of any of you potentially wanting an item I’m ordering I hope everything gets in before the sale ends July 31st!
