Raising money for St. Jude with Gordmans and our family holiday traditions
Thank you so much to Specialty Retailers, Inc. for sponsoring this post and allowing me to share such a wonderful cause!
This Holiday season I’m partnering up with Gordmans to share our Christmas traditions and to also share how Gordmans has partnered up with St. Jude to raise money to help fight childhood cancers and pediatric diseases.
I first want to really touch base on how incredible it is that Gordmans is helping to raise money for St. Jude. Throughout November and December all Gordmans’ shoppers are able to donate at the register at checkout, by purchasing a participating teddy bear (shown in all the images throughout this post) or by simply using the hashtag #BearsThatCare on Instagram. With each in-feed Instagram post with the hashtag #BearsThatCare, Gordmans will be donating $1, and for every teddy bear purchased $2 will be donated to St. Jude.
Social media has become an amazing source for those with little ones battling childhood cancer or other pediatric diseases to ask for help and support. Instagram in particular is so powerful with one post being able to reach thousands of people with just one story share or hashtag #BearsThatCare. Speaking for myself here, but I have found so many mom bloggers that show the fight they’re facing for their babes and I love being able to follow their story, help celebrate the little victories, and offer as much support as I can. Unfortunately, it wasn’t until these last few years on social media that I realized how many kids and families were affected by childhood cancer and other pediatric diseases.
St. Jude makes it so families never receive a bill for treatments, travel, housing or food, because they know how important it is to the focus on their child. To find out more information about #BearsThatCare head to gordmans.com/StJude
our Holiday traditions
Christmas is by far my favorite holiday of the year. Everything from the decor to the shopping to the food makes me so happy. Kyler and I want the girls to feel just as happy as we do during the season so we truly just like to do things together. Right now while they’re still little it’s not really about traditions as much as it is family time and I think that alone is a good tradition to have…as cheesy as it is. Haha. They won’t be this little forever so I’m soaking it all up.
Before the girls, Kyler and I did the cute holiday things couples do and now that Laken is getting a little older, she’s understanding things more, and I am so excited to start the real traditions. For now she’s asking about Santa every day. We made an advent calendar for her and I had her help me put up all the Christmas decor while watching Christmas movies. We want to take her ice skating this year and to see all the fun Christmas lights.
I have a feeling as the girls get older we’ll do even more but with the two of them so little we do matching pjs and just enjoy being present. This time of year is a super special time and I can’t wait for more Christmas’.
