Plaid favorites + ootd break down

I am so excited to share this outfit today! It’s a super basic outfit that can look dressed up or dressed down and all pieces are very versatile!

I want to start with this shirt. I am ridiculously in love with everything about it.  Every year I buy a plaid flannel shirt and every year I never wear it. After cleaning out my closet and parting with close to ten plaid flannel tops I realized that they all looked the same and I think that was why I didn’t like them. I have a ton of flannel tops in all different patterns and wear them all the time. When I put on my plaid flannels I always get really discourage and end up changing out of them. This year I decided to opt out of getting a plaid flannel and instead just get a plaid shirt.

I wish someone would have told me to do this years ago because it has made such a difference!!! I think my biggest issue was that I always felt like I was dressed down with a plaid collard shirt. No matter what I paired with the plaid flannel I felt dressed down. Not having a collar makes me so much more comfortable and I don’t feel out of my comfort zone. This plaid peplum top can be dressed up with jeans and OTK boots or dressed down with leggings and a pair of sneakers. (For all my pregnant mama friends – this top is 100%  bump friendly. It’s very flowy and has a crazy amount of room in the front.)

These jeans were actually a crazy find and on sale for only $25 . I am very loyal to my Abercrombie & Fitch jeans and was very surprised that I found these at Old Navy and THEY FIT!!! They are a mid-rise jean and aren’t a jegging but do have quite a bit of stretch to them. I usually wear a 4 in jeans across the board and had to size up to a six! The fit was very tight around the thighs for me.

These shoes I’m wearing are the  Free People ‘Mont Blanc’ sandal dupes. If I hadn’t found these dupes I know I would have invested in them. I absolutely  love how these sandals look with every outfit.  You can find the dupes for a fraction of the price here.
