Our holiday decor
This little area is easy one of my favorites in the house during the Holidays! More so this year than the previous few because I redid our entire fireplace!! A few years ago I decided to paint the fireplace black and build a mantle that gave the illusion of being a thick solid piece of wood. The black was for sure a Pinterest inspired move that I loved at the time, but it was not me.
A few months go I painted the fireplace this beautiful light gray color and I absolutely love it. I couldn’t imagine it being any other color now that I see it as this. For once, I can actually visualize what I want done in this small space and have been happy with everything I’ve brought into this space so far. Maybe now I’ll start sharing more of my home with you all! I really really really love my every day decor and I wanted to find a way to incorporate it with my Christmas decor without it feeling like a lot and I think I did it!
In case it’s not obvious, I love neutrals. I am a very indecisive person and am constantly switching the decor around, which makes naturals the easiest to work with! This vase holding the pampas stems was actually in our bathroom and these stems were in our bedroom! I get bored and its easier (and more practical) being able to switch up what I already have. I believe this mirror was in another room as some point too!
Now that we’ve covered my every day decor, lets get to the Christmas goodies! I wanted to keep things simple. For one, we are trying really hard to not go crazy on seasonal items while trying to save. For two, I didn’t want to make the area look busy! The stockings, the two trees, the garland and the candle sticks are plenty for me. I decluttered a lot this year while putting up decor and what you see is pretty much all we have.
Our tree is a 7ft flocked tree from King of Christmas that can be found here. Code KENDRA.RAYMER will save you 10% off. Most of our ornaments are from a boutique called The Feather Nest in Belleville, Kansas. It’s one of my favorite places to get ornaments. I did grab an 8-pack of ornaments from Michaels this year to fill some of the spots. We don’t have a very full tree and I kinda like it like that. We get a few every year and which makes it fun!
I don’t have much to say over our decor but I’m starting to really love our little space. I’m sure as the years go by and we are able to do a little more styling I’ll have more holiday decor to share. For now this is it an I love it!
