I’m not spending money all of may!!
If you saw my Instagram story then you know that I’m taking on the challenge of not spending any money the whole month of may! If you didn’t see it, feel free to follow me on Insta here! 🙂 I took a poll on there if you all think I could do it and if you all would want to see a blog post made up entirely of all the items that I’ll be wanting the month of May. Over half of you said you didn’t think I could do it…I have my doubts too…especially after waking up today and realizing that I forgot to buy concealer yesterday(April 30th)! About 90% of you wanted to see a blog post about it so I will create a post and add to it as I go! To see when that goes live and when I update the post throughout the month, be sure to follow me on Instagram for the updates.
I got an abundance of message from you all asking questions, so, lets break this down…
Why am I doing this.
I was inspired to do this after seeing a few of my favorite bloggers do it and the success that they’ve had from it!
Honestly, I’ve always wanted to do something like this to see how much I could save. I am a huge online shopper and I do tend to buy things I don’t really need. Since the hubs and I will be in Jamaica the whole middle part of May, and I’m working the whole first week and a half in the salon I figured this would be the time to do it! I think seeing my bank account grow will be the biggest reward out of all of this.
“You aren’t buying anything?!”
I got this question the most from you all and I should’ve clarified! I will be buying what we need as a family to survive; food, gas, diapers, toiletries.
What I won’t be spending money on is food we don’t need (hello healthier eating for a month), Starbucks, fast food, clothing, home decor, and my hardest goodbye..makeup.
With us traveling and being in whole different Country we will of course be buying some souvenirs while we’re there and food at the airport between flights but that really is it. I may have to sneak a small Starbucks coffee in there to keep me awake with our early morning flight haha.
“Do you have a set amount you will be spending?”
Not really. I plan on paying for everything I need in cash. I think that will help a whole lot with overspending because swiping is easy. Once the cash is gone, I’ll consider bringing out the plastic but I really don’t want to.
“What on earth are you going to do with yourself now that you aren’t going to Target daily?!”
This question is one I’ve been asking myself. My plan over all is to take the whole month of May as a way to de-clutter and clean our house. I want to move furniture around and redo rooms but am going to be searching before making any financial decisions to see if I can find some dupes for what I’m wanting furniture and home decor wise. I have big goals here!!! Haha! I’m going to be focusing on my blog, my YouTube channel vlogs, and interacting with you all.
My final purchases from April
I would love to see what you all think off this idea! Would you do it?
xx-Kendra

I have tried this before and failed 🙁 haha. Good luck! I hope you do better than me. I think the first day I ended up going to Starbucks because I forgot I was doing it then I found out about an amazing sale and totally ruined it. Plus, I am a sucker for food. If something sounds good I have to have it. Haha. But Maybe you are stronger than me! Good luck I’m excited to see how it goes!
