My little obsession with pampas grass
You guys… I am obsessed with pampas grass. I genuinely think it’s the most beautiful thing in the world. Aside from fresh cut flowers, pampas grass wins it in my books.
You all know that I’m not huge into the trends with home decor. Half the time I can barely make up my mind on things to buy. We’ve lived in this house for nearly 5 years and I’m just now decorating it. It’s sad, really, and for some unknown reason pampas grass has hit me a little different haha.
I was wanting to wait to share this post with you all so I could review a few more sellers/places to purchase pampas grass, but I have had such good luck that I don’t see why I would wait. I have had the best luck with purchasing through Etsy. More specifically though Ukraine sellers on Etsy! I have read so many reviews on sellers in both the United States vs Ukraine and I could very well be looking at sellers who just have bad reviews but a lot say the Ukraine pampas grass is super fluffy.
Price has also been a big thing for me. Some sites are extremely expensive and I don’t really want to overspend on dead grass haha.
My favorite seller on etsy is ToyFairytaleGift. I have gotten my natural looking pampas there that’s in our living room and in Chloe’s nursery. I have purchased the stems for $6.50 and they are per stem. That seller also has colored stems that I plan on purchasing when Laken gets a big girl room makeover! Below is the photo fo the stems we have in our living room.
My second favorite seller is AutumnGrassLand. I ended up purchasing a two sets of 3 from this seller which was a little more expensive but the reviews were really good. The only negative thing I have to say is that they didn’t all match when I got them. It didn’t bother me but I could see some people not liking that. The picture below is with those stems and we have these in our bedroom!
pampas grass care
I am not a pampas expert so if you do what I do and something happens don’t put it on me haha. So, when I first get the stems in I open them outside. Trust me on this. They make a huge mess. I also shake them out individually to get all that extra fluff off. I was super gentle with shaking at first and have learned that the stems can withstand quite a bit so you can shake the heck out of them. In the care instructions it’s said to let them lay in direct sunlight for a little bit for them to naturally fluff. I normally let them sit out for an hour.
This part is what I learned from watching videos (see?! I’m obsessed!). The trick to keep them from shedding when inside is to spray them with hairspray. I don’t think the type of hold on the hairspray matters but I usually gravitate towards a workable hairspray haha.
styling
I style my grass in either large glass vases or white vases. I have used both all around the house and I really like to find vases that have texture to them. I have a few linked below that I like.
For Inspiration you can definitely follow my Pinterest here. I’ve gotten a lot of style inspiration from the photos featuring pampas grass. I follow many Instagram accounts dedicated to nothing but how to style pampas grass too! These are my favorite to follow. I think two of the three accounts sell as well but they are a little on the pricer side.
