My holy grail lip duo
Holy freaking dry lips. This winter has killed my lips and I would love to blame it on pregnancy but Kyler and Laken are struggling just as much as I am. My lips have been so dry that they’ve started to swell up and burn. Kyler and Laken have had such dry lips that they’ll crack and bleed. I never ever talk about lip care items and only ever talk about lipsticks so I am so excited to talk about this duo! At this point I rave about these two products enough on my Instagram that it should be no surprise but in case you don’t know, here they are!
The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask and the Revlon Kiss Exfoliating Balm are the only lip items I will ever swear by.
What I love about these items is that they are totally affordable and worth every penny. At first I considered the Laneige Lip Sleep Mask super over priced being $20 but I have been using it religiously 2-3 times a day, every day, since the beginning of November. Within the last month is when Kyler and Laken started to use it as well. Even with them using it not even half the jar is gone. This product is technically an overnight lip mask treatment but it’s ridiculously hydrating and I can’t find anything for the day time that slightly compares. It’s thick and leaves no tint to the skin. I don’t find myself reapplying as often as other chapsticks and it’s really just super amazing haha.
The Revlon Kiss Exfoliating Balm was as surprise find and is under $5!!!!!!! When I was looking for a product like this I really didn’t think it existed. I had only ever seen jars and tubes of lip exfoliaters but never a stick one. I feel like I always notice my lips are their worst when I’m out in public and I wanted something that I could keep in my bag and that wasn’t over $10. There are some things I don’t mind splurging on but this was one I refused to. I use this exfoliating balm every single morning after doing my morning skincare routine. I can use it daily because it’s not super aggressive and there’s quite a bit of moisture in the balm. I ended up getting Kyler his own tube of this and he uses it every night before going to bed. For the price of the tube I don’t feel bad having multiples because it usually goes on sale and ends up being around $3. I keep one in my purse/car, in my makeup bag, and one on my bathroom counter with my skincare.
How I use the products.
I don’t really have a special way of using these products. I use the exfoliating balm in the mornings after washing my face and doing my morning skincare routine. I’ll apply the exfoliating balm with a few passes and then I’ll use my finger to rub it around a little more. If I’m on the go I’ll use a baby wipe to remove the excess, but if I’m at home I’ll use a damp washcloth and pat my lips until all the product is gone. When I apply the Laneige Lip Mask I’ll use a very generous amount. It’s supposed to be on the thicker side. I apply it more generously with every application. If I feel like my lips are real bad then at night I’ll apply the lip mask on my lips and little bit on the skin around them. I haven’t noticed any breakouts from doing that and feel like it really helps! I plan on using the lip mask all summer except for when I’m in the sun because there isn’t any SPF in it. 🙂
