My botox journey – the final reveal
It has been two weeks since getting my Dysport at Aestheticare Medspa – Lawrence. This is the final blog post of this three-part series so if you want to read about my consultation you can check it out here, and if you want to ready about my experience directly after getting Dysport you can check it out here!
I had my two-week follow-up appointment to see how I’m liking the Dysport and to make sure that everything has settled correctly. My final thoughts on getting Dysport is that I absolutely love it. Here on out, I’m scheduled every 90 days to get more Dysport. I know that seems crazy to think I’ll be that consistent with it, but I really truly love the results from it.
I didn’t think to snap a picture of my process until I was in the moment so I don’t have as many as I wish I did, but I was able to snag a few and they’re all down below! If I had a do-over I wish I would have taken a photo every single day to show you all how quickly the Dysport set it. I was told that it takes up to two-week for the Dysport to fully set in and that some people notice a significant change within the first day. I was not one of those lucky people, but I did notice the difference about four days in!
Day 1(zero) of 14: Below is the day of my Dysport. Please ignore the mascara on my eyelid and really just focus on the lines haha. I pick my battles in the morning and worrying about mascara on my eyelid is not one of them. I have three very noticeable lines.
Day 4 of 14: Other than it being a major close up, you can really see the difference here. If you look close enough you can still see some of my lines but there are very few. At this point I could start to feel the Dysport settling in. When I would raise my eyebrows I felt a little bit of a strain like my forehead was trying to move, but it wasn’t at all uncomfortable.
Day 10 of 14: The lines are completely gone and the overall look is amazing. I no longer feel a strain in my forehead when trying to raise my eyebrows.
Day 1 VS. day 14
The reveal pictures are pretty amazing when seeing the before and after side by side. I was so shocked by the images that I actually did gasp over them haha. Since I see myself every day it’s hard to see the gradual change that happens.
The pictures below are of me looking straight ahead with no expression. In the picture on the left you can really see the bigger line on my forehead that was bothering me and a few more lines underneath that are slightly noticeable. On the right the lines are completely gone!
These photos are me raising my eyebrows. I promise I’m raising them in both! I should add that raising my eyebrows and there being lines was never an issue of mine. The issue was how deep the lines were getting when I wasn’t raising my brows. The difference is amazing! I. am. obsessed!
. . .
I want to add a little disclaimer to this because I did get a few messages on Instagram asking why I would do this to myself and if I was aware of all the ingredients in Dysport. My favorite was someone saying that I’m supposed to be embracing all my lines and that I need to love myself more. Some people are real feisty behind a screen haha!
My answer to all that is…Choosing to enhance something on your body doesn’t mean you love yourself less. I’m a firm believer that if you don’t like something about yourself you have every right to change it. I didn’t like the deep lines on my forehead, so I changed it. Getting this was something that I didn’t just think of overnight. Ask my dear husband how long I’ve been talking about this and I can promise you he will say years. I love my smile lines on my face because those are such happy moments. I don’t want to change those and have never said I wanted to. 🙂
*I was gifted my full Dysport service but all words are my absolute own.
