5 ways to kick off your mornings with total tea
Over the past few months I’ve been forcing myself into a routine every morning to get stuff done that I’m really good at putting off. I’ve been trying really hard to start my days on a positive note! I’ve noticed that when I start my day off being really productive I’ve more likely to keep it up the rest of the day. I have also 100% noticed a change in my attitude, my energy level, and our home is about a hundred times more organized and clean haha. It is so easy to get distracted and to completely lose track of time but I’ve really been holding myself accountable. It also helps that I love that I-got-sh!t-done-today feeling haha.
My typical morning starts with an alarm going off between 6:30am and 7:20am. This time all depends on how late I was working on blog posts the night before and if Laken actually decided to go to bed on time. I’m naturally a morning person so I’m usually up by those times anyway but the struggle of actually wanting to get out of bed is so relatable. Here area 5 things I’ve incorporated into my daily morning routine that have really helped me start my mornings off on the right foot!
. . .
1 – staying off my phone the first 30-45 minutes of my morning and the last 30-45 minutes at night
I didn’t realize how much I depended on my phone in the morning. It’s sad actually. I would wake up, grab my phone and lay in bed scrolling through all my apps. Sometimes I’d lay in bed up to an hour and not even realize it had been that long. At night I was falling asleep while scrolling on my phone which isn’t at all better. I’ve started to charge my phone where it’s out of reach so I’m able to wind down without depending on a screen.
2 – give yourself YOU time
If you’re a mom or not, this one is really important. I didn’t realize how much time I actually needed to myself until I went a few days without it. My me time is usually running a few miles every morning/doing a quick at home workout or spending 30 minutes to myself isolated from the world. By this I mean I usually go to Target and look around lol. I really cherish my peace and quite. Fun fact: I love driving in absolute silence!!
3 – having a mid morning pick-me-up
In a perfect world I’d be done with everything before 9am but my world is far from that and by 11am is when I’m really needing a boost of energy. Instead of turning to anything super sugary, I started using Pure Boost Energy by Total Tea. The Pure Boost contains 40+mg of caffeine and is a natural energy aid. The Pure Boost tea has a natural sweet taste to it and I usually end up squeezing a lemon in it for extra flavor. I love drinking the Pure Boost tea hot and cold! It’s super yummy cold with blueberries and raspberries mixed in!
Total Tea is known for their Gentle Detox Tea which I just have to say is absolutely amazing! Their detox tea is the first detox tea that hasn’t upset my stomach or made me feel weak! You can shop all their teas here!
4 – making mental notes(or real ones)
I use to think those who wrote notes over tasks needing to be done were crazy. I literally told myself I would never be that mom that wrote things down and I’d remember everything. LOL at that! Mom brain is real and I can hardly remember what I’m supposed to do 5 minutes from now. Any who, making a mental list of things has really helped when figuring out what I need to get done and what I could potentially start on for the day. I’m very realistic when it comes to my to-do’s. My mental list is indeed full of small home renovation tasks but I don’t feel as obligated to start on them.
5 – staying on top of daily chores
Keeping up with chores throughout the day doesn’t make just every single morning easy, but makes my whole family’s life easier! It is so nice waking up to a house that doesn’t need a good three-hour deep clean. I’ve gotten lucky and had perfect world moments where I can wake up light a candle and enjoy a cup of tea with no interruptions! I am also really good at letting things pile up and having them sit in that one spot for weeks at a time. Just by keeping up on this I’ve been able to keep up with having our floors vacuumed more regularly, all beds being made, and even the laundry done! It’s amazing what a little extra effort can do!
I would love to hear some ways that you guys stay motivated to start your morning off on the right foot!
