lollipop – smart baby monitor
Did any other mammas get super paranoid when it came to their baby monitor & who all could really be seeing their precious babe?! That was me…constantly. We were gifted a very nice Avent baby monitor & I would use it time to time but seriously always feared that someone, somehow had hacked in to the monitor & was watching her sleep! For a short time all I was hearing about in the real world were baby monitor hacking stories. THAT. IS. NOT. OKAY. So, I seriously mean it when I say I don’t know what I did before the Lollipop Baby Cam. The baby cam viewing screen is all through an app. Our phones are usually always on us anyway so it’s easy to access it when need be & I can also communicate with her through it. My mind is at total ease with her sleeping & being with the baby sitter knowing everything is at the touch of my finger.
So a little about the Lollipop Baby Cam other than it being the coolest baby cam ever. For one, it legit looks like a lollipop which is super inviting. It’s also ran entirely from an app which is super convenient for the working parents. Installation was an absolute breeze & so was the set up. The pictures above are about all I could get of the pieces before Laken started going nuts with it. (Let’s appreciate her Ace Ventura hair in these pictures lol). The Lollipop Cam has a long stem in order for you to be able to attach it to the crib itself but since are crib railing is thicker than normal we used the wall attachment that came with the baby cam. The attachment looks like a tree branch which really worked in our favor because her wall is a birch tree mural. We ended up attaching it directly to the crib (pictured below) due to our lack of outlets in her room. I get asked a lot if she messes with it and no. One of the features of the cam is being able to talk to her through the app & she knows that I can talk to her through it & occasionally she’ll touch it when she wants to talk but for the most part completely ignores it. My absolute favorite part of the monitor is where the monitor will notify you when noise reaches above a certain noise decibel by sending you a 30 second clip. I have a really cool story at the bottom of my post to tell you all about!!!!
Lollipop Cam App
The app itself is super easy to navigate & has about 9 big features. There are more features you can get if you also choose to get the Lollipop Sensor that is an attachment of the Lollipop Cam. The first picture above is what it looks like when you open the app & press on the image of the room. The second picture is what it looks like when you get the notifications. This allows you to speak to your baby if they’re crying. It gives you 2 minutes to talk at a time.
1. This allows you to speak to your baby if they’re crying. It gives you 2 minutes to talk at a time.
2. This part lets you hear the noise coming from the room.
3. This makes the screen to go a full screen.
4. The lets you take a picture of what’s going on & automatically saves it to your phone.
5. This is where you can play music through the baby cam from the app. You can control the volume & can choose from songs or sounds. I really like the sounds because it has white noise, vacuum, hair dryer, womb, water, & sea waves. Here you can also set how long the music plays.
6. This feature is just audio mode which allows you to listen to straight audio.
7. This part is where it says what the noise decibel is. Most of the clips I get sent are 80DB or higher & it’s when she’s waking up from a nap or the pacifier fell out.
8. This is where it’ll say if you have noise notifications.
9. All of these are the 30 second clips that are sent to me. I’m able to view them, save them to my, & send them in messages.
Story time…The Lollipop Cam notified me around 3:30pm a week or so ago while I was at the grocery store with Laken & I’m thinking the absolute worst thing possible that I’d open up the video & see some stranger in our home. Our doorbell had rung & our dog was going ballistic (her barking is what set off the video). Come to find out I had a package delivered that day & the delivery guy had left the package on out front porch but when I got home it wasn’t there. I was able to get everything figured out but if it wasnt for the Lollipop Cam I would have never known it went missing!
