Leaves & velvet
So it’s finally fall & I’m really bummed that we haven’t been able to visit the pumpkin patch & do the fall things we normally do… at least not yet. I really enjoy all the activities that we can partake in mainly b/c I’m not a super big decorator when it comes to fall & I’m also not a big fan of Halloween, so there really isn’t much fall brought in to our home. I’m a total pansy when it comes to scary things, like even watching CSI is too much for me haha. BUT we do have pumpkins sitting on our front porch that we plan on finger painting! I’ve been trying really hard to get Laken to want to do more hands on things. Especially since the weather is getting so much cooler in Kansas & we can actually sit outside without melting. We have a fairly big backyard that’s backed up to a small section of woods & every evening I’ll take Laken & Gracie out to play in the yard & with the leaves. Laken gets quite the hoot out of watching Gracie attack the falling leaves & also enjoys seeing if the leaves taste similar to all the other leaves she’s eaten. I prefer not taking Laken places without Kyler because he loves being able to see her get so excited & I like being able to capture the moment. #crazycameralady. I’m hoping by the time November hits we will have finally gone to the pumpkin patch, baked some fall goodies, & captured some cute moments along the way!
I’m also obsessed with velvet right now. I absolutely love how the velvet knot headband looks against her clothes & it adds so much more to an outfit. The past few nights while scrolling on Instagram I’ve seen mommy & baby matching velvet knot headbands & I am so tempted to get us matching ones! It’s so not a necessity but I’m pretty good at justifying anything I buy lol.
So, cheers to velvet, fall, sweaters, & cooler weather
What are some of your favorite family fall things to do? Recipes to make? Traditions? Do you love velvet as much as I do?
xx Kendra
