hair Q + A
do you have extensions - - I do not have extensions! Just blessed with a head full of hair haha. My hair is very fine, but I have a ton of it. I always contemplate getting extensions for added fullness with braids/styling. If I were to follow through, I'd get these hair extensions from BFB hair. What do you ask your stylist - - Highlights are my specialty in the salon so I am an absolute freak over how mine are done. I don't get my hair done very often and always ask for a fine weave heavy highlight. It's a lot of foils but it blends the hair seamlessly and blends a littler better as the hair grows out. Since I do wear my hair up a lot I ask for foils to follow my hairline. Here is my formula when getting everything done: Redken Blonde Icing with 20vol + 30vol mixed. My toner: Redken Shades 9V, 9B & 9P are used. The toner helps to eliminate any warm or brassy tones (yellow/orange) and to give a bright ashy finish. How often do you get your hair done - - I would say close to 4-5 times a year. I go anywhere from 13-15 weeks between hair appointments and since I do go so long I opt for the fine weave so it grows out nicely. As a stylist, I ask my clients to come back every 7-8 weeks for a highlight touchup. However, I hate getting my hair done so I take my time. What do you ask for when getting a cut - - I typically cut my own hair just because I have a super basic cut/style. Since I always either wear my hair up or down and curled, I like to have that fringe around my face to give it a messy vibe. I have elongated curtain bangs and I have rounded layers. Rounded layers help to give fullness. I'm personally not a huge fan of the blunt cut on myself so when I do cut the perimeter of my hair I point cut the length off. It gives the ends a little more of a softer look.
