Finding Designer denim that fits your style at Halls
This post is sponsored by Halls.
You all know how this past weekend I went to Halls to check out their yearly Denim Event! I’m bothered that I wasn’t able to head down earlier in the week to show you all the deals and had to go on the last day, but I still snagged some amazing pieces that I can’t wait to talk about! Since their denim event is no longer happening, I want to share all that Halls has to offer in the denim department because they are who I go to when I need a pair and I just got Kyler hooked on their denim too.
I prefer jeans over leggings and I always have. I find jeans so much more comfortable and I feel a little more put together in them. Since I do wear jeans all the time, I’ve become incredibly picky over the fit, style, and brand. Since shopping more at Halls I have found that clothing brands that focus on denim tend to hold up best over time. (DUH!) I feel like this should be a given, but I also understand that these brands sometimes come with a high price tag.
If there’s anything I’ve taken away from this, it’s that high quality denim is an investment. I can understand how it can be hard to pull the trigger on a pair of jeans over $100, but I also understand the frustration of finding a pair of jeans from a fast fashion retail store that can’t claim to be made of real denim/hold up to the every day wear and tear.
A few denim brands that I have had wonderful luck with are Paige, Hudson, AGOLDE, Frame, and AG. A couple other brands that Halls carries are Good American, Rag & Bone, Purple Denim, Joes, Citizens of Humanity and DL 1961.
- Paige – these jeans have more stretch to them than a normal pair of denim. Paige jeans were the first pair of designer jeans that I bought. I was so tired of looking that I walked into a store, asked for help and said,”I don’t care about price, I just want a pair of jeans I feel good in.” The stylist helped me and about 5 pairs in I fell in love. Paige jeans fit very true to size and fit very well through the thigh/booty area. I noticed a slight stretch throughout the day but still felt like they hugged my body well. I snagged a pair of Paige jeans for Kyler and he is in love with them.
- Hudson – these jeans are a little more snug. I actually did end up getting my normal size in these and when I put them on they are a little tight, but after about 15 minutes they loosen up and are extremely comfortable. Hudson has a unique way of distressing their denim with colors. That sounds weird but the pair of Hudson jeans I have are distressed with hints of green. They are the most absolute beautiful color and I always get a lot of compliments on them when I wear them out.
- AGOLDE – This and one more pair of denim are ones I actually don’t own. However, I always try them on when I get a chance because I have yet to find a style I don’t love. AGOLDE jeans are a true denim. It’s the denim that doesn’t have any stretch, it’s thick, and it’s what denim dreams are made of. I have found that AGOLDE jeans aren’t the most friendly for those with bigger thighs because the demin has zero stretch to it, but if you size up you will find a pair that fits you well. I typically have to go up 2-3 sized in their denim just for the fit around my thigh and for it to be comfortable. Since I don’t own a pair I can’t tell you if they give a little through the day.
- Frame – Talk about an investment. I cannot bring myself to buy a pair of Frame jeans because of the price, but when I say they’re worth it, trust me on it. I splurged on Kyler and got him a pair of these and he is truly obsessed with them. I’m jealous that he has a pair before I do. He is wearing is true size and says they feel incredibly comfortable. For myself, I typically go with my normal or go up one depending on the style of jean.
- AG – Saving this brand for last because AG is still an investment denim brands but definitely more affordable of them all. I have a black pair of AG denim and I wear that every week to work and I get compliments on the fit of them every single week. They are easily in the top 5 most worn pairs of denim I own. They fit very true to size and are hug your curves like a glove. I like to say that AG is a brand that fits all body types well. I’ve seen a lot of girls wear the jeans I have and they all look beautiful in them. If there was a particular brand that I would recommend to look into first, it would be AG!
Since the last day of the sale was this past Sunday and that was the only day I could go, I didn’t have my hopes up with finding my size in certain styles. I really wanted to try on a few pairs of Good American but they were picked over and the two pairs pictured below I needed to size up on and they were sold out. We can admire their beauty though! Those AGOLDE jeans are a dream!
I was able to snag two pairs for Kyler. I got him a pair of FRAME jeans and Paige jeans. I have no clue what to look for with denim for men but Kyler somehow trusted me to pick out a couple pairs for him. I knew his size and that I prefer him in a straight leg. I asked for help right away and learned a lot of mens denim! The two pairs I walked away with fit him perfectly!
Inside Halls is The Bridge which is where all the denim is at. The Bridge is so much more than denim and houses KC shirts, business attire, trendy fashion, and so much more. You can find things from $30 to $300 and I can guarantee that you can find something in your style and within your price range with the help of their many wonderful stylists.
Hall’s personal stylists are one of the many reasons I love going there. At this point I’m certain I’ve asked for help in every department of theirs. I’ve never once felt like I was being pushed clothing upon or needing to buy what they show me. I’m always very open to trying new styles or colors and sometimes the items I would never chose and are picked are for me are my tried and true.
