Falling into the denim skirt trend

The last time I wore a denim skirt was in third grade. No joke. I wore it with my Mary-Kate and Ashley sequin top, black platform foam sandles, and a lime green sequin purse. LOL!!!! I know a few of you can relate to me on this outfit, too!

When I saw that denim skirts were making a comeback I knew that it would be a big one and I honestly had no desire to even get one until I started seeing all the cute outfits on Pinterest and Instagram! I absolutely love the oversized sweaters with the denim skirts and knee-high boots. That probably has to be my favorite combo so far and I’m sure a look that I will copy.

I went to the mall this past Saturday just to try on skirts to see if I liked how I looked in them and if I felt good in them. I’m usually an online shopper but online shopping for bottoms is always a hit or miss and I didn’t want to get discouraged. I was really surprised when the first skirt I tried on was a hit!

My skirt is the We the Free by Free People in denim. They also have it in an emerald-green and black. It is more of a high-waisted skirt and that wasn’t what I was originally looking for but it is so comfortable! I feel very secure in it haha and it doesn’t ride up. The skirt runs true to size so I wore my normal size 27 and still feel like there is a lot of give to the material. My favorite part would have to be the cute detailing on the zipper pull.

The price wasn’t the worst either being $60. I plan on adding this skirt to my closet as a staple piece and am hoping to get a few years worth of wear out of it. I don’t see myself stocking up and getting multiple denim skirts haha.
