Creating an entire fall outfit with $100 at Legends Outlet
I had one of the most exciting challenges and partnerships this past week and I am seriously so excited to share it with you all! If you are a Kansas City native or a frequent traveler to the area then you know of Legends Outlets. If you have never heard of Legends Outlets then I seriously recommend checking them out (I go over what Legends Outlets is all about later in the post)! They reached out to me and asked if I’d be willing to do a little bit challenge with them and create an entire fall look with only $100. Not only is this an amazing opportunity because I never would have dreamed about partnering with one of my favorite places to shop at but I am always down to shop. Haha.
I did a few Instagram stories before having some posting difficulties which I am still so annoyed about, but I had my sweet husband there as my camera man who totally called me out in my stories, and the replies I got with you all thinking it was hilarious was insane! If you missed it, I asked him if he thought I could do it and create and outfit for $100. His response was that it would be the first time that I have ever worn an outfit worth only $100.
Now the big question is, did I create an entire fall look for $100?!?!?!
YES! Well, I spent $103.88, but I did it and am pretty dang proud of it!
You are crazy if you think I went into this and didn’t have a game plan. I know my stores and their price points pretty well and had my mind-set on being able to find something at each store I went to. I also had an outfit in mind and wanted to take full advantage of this opportunity and go out of my comfort zone. By that, I mean picking out something that isn’t my normal fall outfit – OTK boots, dark skinny jeans, off the shoulder sweater, messy bun.
Stores in my game plan:
Rack Room Shoes – shoes
Forever 21/F21 Red – accessories
H&M – sweater
Old Navy Outlet – jeans
Express Factory Outlet – maybe depending on what my budget looks like
Let’s start off with shoes. I knew for sure that shoes would take over most of my budget, and they did! I got super lucky though and spent $54.99 on these booties below. “Kendra, don’t you already have those?!” YES!!! I love them that much that I got another pair haha. They aren’t on sale anymore and are back up to their original $69.99 but you can find them here!
I went from shoes to pants. I figured this would be the second most expensive thing on my list. I wanted a pair of denim and most denim is in the $30-$40 range which tested me a little bit. Old Navy is always having incredible deals so I figured they would be the perfect place to look for denim. I ended up finding a pair for $25 and they fit like a dream!! I’m very loyal to my jeans so I was shocked at finding a pair at Old Navy of all places. You can find the jeans here!
I got so lucky with finding my sweater! I walked into H&M and immediately locked eyes with it. I had my fingers crossed that it was a reasonable price because I have a gift of always locking eyes with the most expensive item in the store. IT WAS ONLY $19.90!!!!!! It could not have been anymore perfect! This sweater was actually really out of my comfort zone. I have never owned or worn a turtleneck sweater before. I didn’t feel like myself in it and was actually worried that I would hate every single picture in it, but ended up obsessed with it after seeing the pictures (thank you Kyler). You can find the sweater here!
Of course no outfit is complete without accessories. I chose to go to Forever 21 for the accessories because they have such an incredible selection. I was between getting an inexpensive clutch and some earrings and ultimately decided on the earrings because I knew I would get more wear out of them in the future. I chose some pretty basic gold hoops that had the hammered texture to them that I knew would go with a ton of outfits. You can find the earrings here and they also come in silver!
The price of these? $4.90
My total spending?
Shoes – $54.99
Jeans – $24.00
Sweater – $19.99
Earrings – $4.90
Total: $103.88
I think I did pretty dang good for finding all that I did. I found shoes that I love and know that I will get a ton of wear out of. I found jeans that fit me incredibly well and have been worn every day since. I found my very first turtleneck sweater that I have now worn with jeans and with leggings and am absolutely obsessed with it. And I found some gold hoops that I can pair with a ton of fun outfits! I liked the challenge and may actually start challenging myself when it comes to shopping to stay in budget and to fully have an outfit put together.
Now a little about Legends Outlets!
The fun pictures Kyler took above really showcase how beautiful Legends Outlets shopping center is. It is an outdoor shopping center with stores to accommodate all ages and needs, and it also has a very large restaurant selection. Legends is the closest shopping center to us and we very frequently go there for a few hours to shop and then to eat.
We love how quick of an in-and-out it is for us, and the store selection they have! They are constantly opening up new stores and a few that I currently love is Express Factory Outlet, Nike Factory outlet, Kate Spade Outlet, Adidas Outlet, H&M and the Michael Kors Outlet.
If you are curious about other stores/ restaurants they have available you can check out their site here

I love the Legends! I used to work right down the street, now I have to drive like 40 minutes just to get there. But it’s worth it!
