3 ways to style a gray midi skirt
Was I 100% influenced by other bloggers and Pinterest to get a midi body-con skirt? Absolutely! Did I have my doubts about being able to pull it off knowing I’m a little thicker through the thighs and booty? Absolutely! Do I feel like a literal queen in this skirt? Absolutely!!!!
A week ago I saw this skirt styled on some of my favorite bloggers (all different body types) and it was like it was a sign because then it popped up on my Pinterest! I caved hard. This skirt was a not-so-confident splurge and I had every doubt in my mind that I wouldn’t like how I looked in it. I love being wrong about clothing items because this piece was good…so good I’m thinking about getting in a few other colors (I can’t help it)! I did get the skirt in a small and honestly think I would’ve been fine with an xs with the amount of stretch it has.
Here’s the $50 Free People skirt in all its glory.
Below are my three takes on how I would style the skirt. I don’t own anything like this skirt either which makes styling so much fun! Every single thing I have linked in this post is $50 and under (with the exception of the sunglasses). I wanted it to be easy for you all and practical to share items that can be worn more than once without breaking the bank.
First up, date night. I personally love doing fancy/comfortable for date night. Silk dresses are fun and all but I don’t want to feel like I’m losing circulation half way thought the night hah. I chose to tuck a white tank into the skirt but the ‘bra tuck’ method looked really cute too! I’m a neutrals girls so I paired the fit with nude heels, a tan bag, and my favorite Charlotte Tilbury lipstick (links all below the photos).

Next we have an outfit that I call happy hour but could really be worn anywhere. It’s a very casual/edgy look, but yet very comfortable! This tank was a steal for $12 at target and the little ruffle detail is everything. Jean jackets easily complete an outfit and are staples in a wardrobe. I personally would pair something like this with sneakers, but this also would look super cute with some strappy sandals! The sunglasses are more than $50 but they’re a dupe to the Gucci ones I get asked about all the time so I had to add them.

This last outfit is my favorite of the three. It’s easy. It looks comfortable and all the pieces can be worn different ways. This is one of the graphic tees I purchased and am waiting on and what I would probably pair with the skirt most. Of course my huggie hoops are part of this and a classic black sandal to tie it in!
