Top Ten Skincare Products of 2017
With the new year I’ve taken it upon myself to make it a goal to use up what I have before I purchase or open up something new. To be completely honest, I’m always having to test out new products for work so I really can’t stick to my self-made rule. However, I have deep cleaned & donated (to all the ladies in my life) trash bags full within the past few weeks which is a huge relief being able to give good stuff to someone who will actually use it. I was able to narrow my stock pile down to three very large wicker baskets. I’m a total skincare junkie & I’m aware I don’t need the 12 exfoliating masks I still have, but I also do..haha. A goal I’m setting for myself this upcoming year (a whole “New Years Goal’s” post will be up soon!) is to have less waste of products & to really only stick to the products I love.
So, I’ve narrowed it down and here are my Top Ten Skincare Products of 2017!
1. Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta® Peel: Extra Strength Daily Peel Pads
If I had to choose to live with one skincare item for rest of my life this would have to be it. These Daily Peel Pads have my skin doing a complete 360 & when I feel like I’m invincible & can go a day without I’m quickly reminded why I can’t. They are on the pricier side being $148 for a 60 count but don’t have to be used every single day & can be used every two/three days for the same results.
2. Rodial: Snake Booster Oil
I used to be terrified of oils b/c of that greasy feel. However, this does more than just moisturize by tightening & toning the skin. The Syn®-Ake dipeptide mimics viper venom by giving a mild freeze, thus smoothing the skin. This product is $90 but you also get the instant result that lasts. Victoria Beckam also uses the Rodial line & her skin is flawless so you bet I’m going to stick with this product.
3. Kate Somerville: DermalQuench Liquid Lift®
So tech neck is totally a thing & I don’t want it. (Creases in your neck from looking down at your phone for too long.) I keep this spray out on my bathroom counter & every time I pass by I’ll spray my neck & face. It fights wrinkles, signs of aging, uneven tones & dryness. It leaves a refreshed tingly feeling like I just got done getting a facial & I’m obsessed. It’s also the absolute coolest product b/c when you spray it, it sprays foam.
4. Kate Somerville: Goat Milk De-Puffing Eye Balm
I love the consistency of this product. I does feel like you’re putting a glue stick to your under-eyes but the thickness is what sold me. I love that I know it’s there unlike other eye creams. This product is only $38 so it’s affordable & lasts.
5. PeterThomasRoth: Brightening Bubbling Mask
I have gone through more bottles of this mask than I think I have any other mask. I looooovvve the way it tingles when the mask goes on. It foams up & as it bubbles it sucks oxygen into your skin instantly brightening your skin & gives your face more life. It’s super nice in the morning after a bad nights sleep.
6. First Aid Beauty: Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum
I’ve tried $150 serums & nothing compares to this $36 serum. My favorite part is that it’s for all skin types. So while I was super dry during the summer & super oily during my pregnancy I didn’t have to switch up my serum to accommodate my skin.
7. Dr. Dennis Gross: Ferulic + Retinol Anti-Aging Moisturizer
This is my all time second favorite product. I want my face to look & feel like a baby’s face & this moisturizer puts all the good in that my skin needs. It is on the pricey side being $72 but your skin will thank you!
8. PeterThomasRoth: Acne Clear Invisible Dots
I’m not at all a fan of acne spot creams or gels. I always stain my towels & I don’t always feel like the cream targets the problem area. I love these acne dots. They’re little stickers that you apply over the area at night & the next morning the nasty has come to the surface or it’s gone! It is $30 for the container but you get a lot for your money. These also work amazing on ingrown hairs.
9. Kate Somerville: ExfoliKate® Intensive Exfoliating Treatment
I hardcore exfoliate about once a week. This is a physical & chemical exfoliator which means you aren’t going to just see the results but you’ll also feel them & it is amazing! It’s a 2 minute exfoliate that polishes the skin. I usually get the 2 oz tube for $85 & for me it lasts about 6-8 months.
10. Supergoop!: Skin Soothing Mineral Sunscreen SPF 40
The older I’ve gotten the more conscious I’ve been about the sun & all the bad it does. Since I’m home a majority of the week I lather my face in this to prevent what I can. My favorite thing is that it leaves behind no sticky/greasy/oily residue. I’ll probably buy a giant tub this summer for all of us. A 2.4 oz tube is $28 which isn’t bad at all for what you’re getting!
