12 Days of Beauty: Day 8 – Charlotte Tilbury Makeup review
Happy day 8 of my Twelve Days of Beauty!! I’m in denial that Christmas is next week. I’m ready for it, but I need more time before the year is over haha. There’s still time to catch up to win the T3 Singlepass Curling Iron if you’re new here! Just head to this post to check it all out.
Today might be my favorite day of the twelve because I doing a full review over the products that Charlotte Tilbury sent me. Charlotte Tilbury is one of my absolute favorite cosmetic lines ever. I feel in love with their lipstick and liners and from there have grown to love the entire brand. I feel so very lucky to have received a package from them because I seriously that I was the last person they would want to reach out to, but dreams come true folks!!! You never know when you’ll get noticed! I also did a full first impressions tutorial over on my Instagram stories so if you want to check that you can follow me here.
I went a little out of order when showing and talking about products in my stories so here I’ll be talking about the products in the order I would normally use them.
The first product I tried was Charlotte’s Magic Cream. This is a moisturizer that is extremely thick and gives a glow! I didn’t use this all over my face but I did use it where my skin feels the tightest and most dry and that was my cheeks! Usually with other creams I put on prior to my makeup my skin starts to feel really dry within a few hours. It’s been about 8 hours since and my skin feels good!
This next product was actually one I was really excited to try out and it’s the Wonderglow Face Primer. I was so excited for this because there are four ways to use it! One way is as a normal primer before applying foundation, one is mixing it with the foundation, one is applying it after the foundation, and the last way is the wear it on its own after applying a moisturizer. In my stories I added it after applying my foundation and only used it on the spots that I wanted more of a glow. I wanted to mix it in my foundation but figured this would be the best way to show it to you all. The glow in this primer is kept to a minimum which is another reason why I was so excited to try it out. Almost every other glow primer or dew drop primer that I’ve used has so much orange to that it changes the color of my face/foundation instantly.
I went into eyes next and used the Luxury Eyeshadow Palette in The Dolce Vita. This is a quad palette and on the back of the palette it shows what order to use the colors. I followed the order of the colors during my little tutorial in my stories and just have to say that I am absolutely obsessed with Charlotte Tilbury’s eyeshadows. The powder blends out so freaking well and is extremely buildable and very pigmented! I didn’t go in scared using the darker shades like I do in most palettes because they can sometimes be unpredictable. I can honestly say I loved the color of these shadows so much that I will be purchasing the other quads.
Ummm I know I posted about my favorite eyeliner yesterday but I think I have a new one to add to the list. I was not expecting myself to love The Feline Flick Liquid Liner as much as I did. I honestly think it was a deeper black than the one I talked about yesterday. I had no issue during application and felt like I had a really steady hand all throughout doing my wings!
After my eyes I went in for the contour. I am always super skeptical using new contour shades. I’m terrified that I’m going to look dirty or the powder won’t blend out. After giving the Filmstar Bronze & Glow Contour Duo a try I have decided that everyone needs this duo in their life. Holy crap I have never used a contour shade as buttery and beautiful as this one! I used an angled fluffy brush to really carve out my cheek bones and actually built up my desired contour. I went really light handed to be safe and totally could’ve gone full force and been fine. I applied the glow after I applied my blush and it was the perfect amount of highlight! It’s a very subtle and beautiful glow. I can see myself grabbing this glow shade for years to come!
When I first opened the blush I thought it was really cool how it was two toned and assumed that I swirled them together. Charlotte Tilbury is on some next level stuff when it comes to their cosmetics because it’s two toned to compliment out features! I used the Cheek to Chic Blush in the shade Fist Love and in my tutorial I didn’t follow the directions and just swirled them together. If you wanted to be real specific with application, you use the outer shade up the cheek bone and use the inner shade on just the apple of the cheeks. I think the next time I try out the blush I’ll do it the way it’s suggested. I was happy with the color pay off with swirling the two together so I can only imagine how much more beautiful it will be doing it the right way haha.
After my blush I went in with mascara and used the Full Fat Lashes Mascara. Mascara is my favorite beauty item to try out because you get either are instantly impressed or instantly upset. In this case I was surprisingly impressed! I’m not a huge fan on the regular mascara brushed and prefer the rubber brushes but there was so much separation and volume given! My lashes are on the blonde side so anything makes a big difference. I will say thought that throughout the day I keep catching myself staring at my lashes because I can actually see them all lifted and separated!
Last but not least is lipstick. Lipstick is what got me hooked on Charlotte Tilbury’s makeup line and it has yet to fail me. Today I went out of my normal shade of ‘Pillow Talk’ and went with a Matte Revolution Lipstick in the shade Red Carpet Red. HOLY FRICK!!! I need to go back and add this color into the post all about my favorite holiday reds! GAHHHH!! I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS SHADE!! In my tutorial you’ll see the full look of me having it on and it’s the most beautiful shade of red ever.
I honestly can’t thank Charlotte Tilbury enough for sending me all these goodies. Would it be too much to say that I cried a little with happy tears at the idea of one of my all time favorite cosmetic lines to notice me? Lol. It’s so silly but it gives me hope when I see that I’m getting noticed by companies so big. Not that this matters but they emailed me the week they made it public that they were the cosmetic line used for all the Angels during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. It’s just crazy to think about! Haha. Anyway, thank you for following me along and letting me rant my love for Charlotte Tilbury Today! 🙂
